Great Sponsors Support the Johnston Peach Blossom Festival

Festivals are fun for everyone, but great sponsors make it possible.

The sponsors of the Johnston, S.C., Peach Blossom Festival, which will be held May 7, 2022, make it possible to keep the Festival free or low-cost for patrons. In addition, it helps raise additional money that can be used to reinvest in the Johnston area.

The Johnston Peach Blossom Festival Premier Sponsor is AT&T. 

Other Corporate Sponsors are Generac, Vyve Broadband, Edgefield County Health Care, J.W. Yonce and Sons, NAPA of Johnston/Edgefield, Dominion Energy, Bridgestone, Herlong Ford, National Wild Turkey Federation, KJs Market, SRP Federal Credit Union, and First Citizens Bank, Johnston.

This year’s Johnston Peach Blossom Festival Entertainment Sponsors are Dr. Hugh Morgan Family Practice, Moorecraft Cabinets, Trantech Radiator Products, Pendarvis Chevrolet, and Titan Farms.

Last year, thousands of patrons descended on Johnston to enjoy the day set aside to honor the peach industry, which has been so important in the development of the area. Each year, the Town goes all out with the Festival to remind citizens about the peach industry and to open its arms to visitors.

Johnston’s First of Three Community Concerts in the Park to Be Held April 1

The Johnston Development Corporation (JDC) is sponsoring its first of three Community Concerts in the Park in Johnston on April 1.

The Concerts, which will be held 7-8 p.m., are free and open to the public, and will be held in Mims Park in front of Johnston Elementary School. The concerts are designed to present a diversity of music for concert-goers to enjoy.

Performing at the Concert on Friday, April 1: Edgefield County Acoustic – Guitar Pull: Edgefield County Acoustic (ECA) was formed by local citizens who love listening, playing, and writing acoustic music. The membership is open to the public. Like them on Facebook to see where and when the next gathering will be. Come and play, sing, or just listen to homegrown acoustic music!

These concerts will be held rain or shine. In case of rain, the concerts will be moved inside the Johnston Elementary School Gym. 

No coolers or alcohol will be allowed. Concert attendees should bring their own chairs.

The Johnston Development Corporation (JDC) is sponsoring three springtime Community Concerts in the Park in Johnston, which will be held in April, May, and June.

Friday, May 6 (the night before the Johnston Peach Blossom Festival): Cedar Creek Church, Ridge Campus You wanted gospel music, so here it is! Come and enjoy hearing about the soul-saving music about Jesus. God is good!

Friday, June 3: Digital Vinyl Based in the CSRA, Digital Vinyl performs songs from back in the days of records and turntables. They are a cover band that plays all your favorite classic rock, Southern rock, and blues.

Johnston Mayoral Forum Coming

The Johnston Development Corporation (JDC) is hosting a Mayoral Candidates Forum for the three candidates on March 17, 7 p.m., Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce in Johnston.

The three candidates, Thomas Holmes, Frank Nicholson, and Davis Parkman, have all been invited to participate. Bruce Horne of Saluda will moderate.

The Forum will consist of asking pre-determined questions of the candidates to get their responses. The candidates will also be able to make brief closing comments.

Seating is limited for the event, but the Forum will be carried live on Timeless Jukebox Radio and Facebook Live on the Johnston Development Corporation’s Facebook page. The event will also be recorded on Facebook, so citizens will be able to review it at any time.

Parade Entries, Entertainers Wanted for the Johnston Peach Blossom Festival

The Johnston, S.C., Peach Blossom Festival wants you!

Each year, the Town goes all out with the Festival to remind citizens about the peach industry and to open its arms to visitors. This year, the Festival will be held on May 7, 2022, in historic downtown Johnston.

Entertainment

Entertainment has been a big part of the 38 years of the Festival and now is your chance to be a part of the historic Festival.

The Festival wants to feature talented people, local and not-so-local, as part of the day-long entertainment in the 38thannual event, held in downtown Johnston.

Entertainers who think they have what it takes to be a part of this year’s Festival should contact Gaye Holmes.

Parade

The Festival is now taking applications for individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in being a part of the Festival’s parade.

Those interested in participating in the parade should contact Debra Aston.
