Johnston, South Carolina, known as the “Peach Capital of the World,” is located in Edgefield County and is part of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Johnston was officially chartered as a town in 1897 after having served levitra online as a small railroad village called Johnston Turn Out. With a population of just under 2500 residents, the charm of the town is in its Victorian architecture and many antique shops.
Edgefield County is the home J. Strom Thurmond, one of the longest serving Senators in the United States Senate and a former Governor of South Carolina. But Thurmond isn’t the only Governor to come from Edgefield; nine others join him and give Edgefield its nickname as the “Home of Ten Governors.”
